It Was Exciting, Mom...

HOSPITAL CRIMES

Once upon a time last Thursday, a woman had a miscarriage either at home or at the hospital. She later coded, and was taken to ICU. Simultaneously to this tragedy, a woman selling baby clothes, at approximately, late at night, managed to walk into this particular woman's room and steal everything in her room. "I'm her sister" was all she said. The nurses helped her...all the way out the front of the hospital, where she left and maxed out every credit card this woman had, while she lay dying. Yes, there are many unanswered questions to this crime.

David was involved in this from the beginning, however, when he went to work yesterday morning, he had no idea what was to come. Since G. is out of state, David first took over his job of taking Mikala, G's GF's daughter to school. She is around 9, I think. She tried to not wear the shoes her Mom put out, but David would have no part in her mischief. Wear those. Let's go.

After arriving at work, two homicide detectives descend on the young 22 year old. Oh shit, he thinks to himself. They were investigating whether the baby clothes selling woman, oh, who by the way, also has a daughter who just miscarried (hence the sale), could have possibly killed the woman in the hospital. "She died?" exclaimed David. Also, the brother of the sister who died, is going to the media because of lack of security at the hospital.

Ya'll still with me?

My son is quick on his feet. You should have seen him playing QB, safety and wide receiver in high school. The boy was prepared. Well, he escorted his 2 new friends, while contacting the COO of the place, upstairs to a quiet place where they all might sort this out. To keep this from getting too long, my boy, has his incident report half written, video surveillance within gettin distance, and he's armed with his shit together. And so on and so on.

He runs off to do his first New Employee Orientation he's never done before, knocks that out and then come back to start working on his staff problems. They're short staffed and he ends up with just one on a shift. Shuffle, Shuffle, okay.

Next he hears the woman who was in ICU, who died, is not dead. She is on life support. WTF?

More top level discussions and this is an ongoing saga, because I will not be able to talk to him two nights in a row. Not Mom and Son. I had to call him. He did not call me. He is too busy sticking feathers in his hat for his next promotion. As it stands right now, he is not getting the SALARY for this Supervisory position. All of these incidents are ammunition for his Director to use in budget talks and for Public Safety enhancement, which obviously is a friggin priority if this loon was able to walk right in the damn hospital unquestioned.

This would have NEVER happened at his previous location. The umbrella company he works for is in the process of getting the Public Safety operations standardized throughout the region.

I must add this note: Had David gone ahead and joined the Air Force, he would by now be stationed somewhere loading equipment in the ass end of a plane. (remember he's color blind)
It would have taken him at least 12 years to earn this much responsibility. Was I right that he would have been bored?

God and Mama know their boy...

10 Yeehahs!:

Wow. I mean. Wow. Kudos to David, but that story is so sad. Methinks a crime has been committed. But that may come from being married to an old cop.

Wow.

What a man you have raised! You should feel very proud.

YES, you were right. absolutely right.

Good freaking grief! why wasnt the womans belongings sent to the ICU immediately after her transfer?

AND what is the staff doing escorting someone out of the hospital with another persons personal effects???? that is shoddy in itself. Security cannot be everywhere, the staff has to take ownership of keeping things secure and safe when security is not there.

VERY weird....

Well I think you have a mystery on your hands there. And maybe the butler did it...or?? David is going to enjoy his new job, let's just hope he doesn't get burned out too quickly. That is a lot of pressure and stree on his shoulders. Yes, you were right, we al knew it, and now maybe HE knows it too. Good job and keep us posted.

Wow! What a dilemma! Good for him for having a good head on his shoulders so that he could do what's right in the situation.

Wow. I am so glad he made what, for the sake of the people he serves, was absolutely the right one. My son is color blind as well and only wants to be a jet pilot. :(

Just awful for that poor woman. So glad David is on top of things. You'll have to let us know the next chapter.
